Johnny Wactor, who played Brando Corbin on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital,” was fatally shot on Saturday night in Los Angeles during an attempted robbery. The incident took place around 3 a.m. as Wactor and his friend, Anita Joy, were walking to their cars after finishing a bartending shift at Level 8, a rooftop bar in downtown Los Angeles.

Three men were reportedly trying to steal the catalytic converter from Wactor’s vehicle. When Wactor confronted them, he was shot at close range. Despite efforts by a bar security guard to perform emergency first aid, Wactor died on the scene. He was 37 years old.

Joy recounted the event in a series of Instagram posts, describing Wactor’s final moments and expressing her grief and anger. In her posts, she highlighted Wactor’s attempts to de-escalate the situation and his bravery in the face of danger.

Wactor had a varied acting career, with roles in “General Hospital,” “Station 19,” “NCIS,” “Westworld,” and the video game “Call of Duty: Vanguard.” He was remembered by colleagues and family for his work ethic and kindness.

No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing. Wactor’s family is seeking justice and has expressed a hope that his case does not become a “cold case.”
