Planning Developments: Noodle Bar Kitchen in Cwmbran, Flats in Eastbourne, and New Homes in Swaffham
A high street noodle bar chain, Asaga, has applied for planning permission to establish a production kitchen at the Court Road Industrial Estate in Llantarnam, Cwmbran. Founded by Shuxin Liu, Asaga opened its first restaurant in Newport City Centre in 2016 and has since expanded to Swansea, Cwmbran, Swindon, and Weston-super-Mare. The proposed kitchen will feature large mixing and pasta kettles and will supply the Asaga chain. The application is under consideration by the Torfaen Borough Council.
In Eastbourne, plans to convert Ansvar House on St Leonards Road into 20 flats have been approved by Eastbourne and Lewes Councils. Submitted by Purple Pepper Partnership on behalf of Ansvar House Ltd, the project will transform a previously empty office block into 16 two-bedroom and four one-bedroom flats across four floors. The building’s exterior, main corridors, staircase, and lift will remain unchanged. Most of the existing 24 car parking spaces will be retained, with additional cycle storage.
Lastly, Breckland Council’s planning officers have recommended approval for a development of 150 homes in Swaffham, Norfolk. Crocus Contractors plan to build a mix of one to four-bedroom homes on a 15-acre site off Sporle Road, including 60 affordable homes. The project, supported by Swaffham Town Council, will include over an acre of open space and contributions to local recreational facilities. The final decision will be made by Breckland Council’s planning committee on June 4.
