Road Closures and Traffic Delays Following Crashes in Oxfordshire and Suffolk
On Monday morning, a major roundabout connecting Middleton Stoney to Bicester in Oxfordshire was closed after a crash. The B4030 road closure stretched between Middleton Road and A4095 Howes Lane from approximately 10 am. Emergency services, including marked and unmarked police cars, police bikes, two ambulances, and a helicopter, were reported at the scene.
Local resident Lissa Paterson, while not witnessing the incident, observed the heavy emergency presence around the Menu Partners’ factory. She reported that despite the helicopter taking off later, ambulances remained on the site without their lights on, and a significant police presence persisted. Throughout the day, traffic delays were noted in parts of Bicester and surrounding areas, though it was unclear if these were directly related to the crash. As of 5 pm, the road remained closed, with Thames Valley Police contacted for more information.
In a separate incident, a crash on the A11 between the B1106 and A1065/A1101 junctions near Elveden in Suffolk resulted in significant traffic delays. The A11 southbound was blocked, causing congestion over a two-mile stretch. Suffolk Police were on the scene, and National Highways warned drivers to expect delays of up to 30 minutes. The presence of any casualties remains unconfirmed. This is a developing story with updates expected.
